If one likes something or someone, they “love” them. I feel like everyone thinks that the word, “love,” is exchanged in America too freely. Why is the word “like” not good enough?

It’s so plain and ordinary. There’s nothing special about “liking” things and “liking” people. But what’s wrong with being ordinary?
